Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday delivered a firm message to his party cadre, urging all office bearers to set aside internal rifts and focus on united preparations for the upcoming local body elections across Maharashtra.
The directive came during a crucial internal party review meeting, where senior leader Bala Nandgaonkar revealed that Thackeray offered in-depth guidance on both organisational strengthening and electoral strategies.
“There is no place for personal disputes or ego. Everyone who has ever stood with MNS must be brought back into the fold, regardless of current involvement,” Nandgaonkar quoted Thackeray as saying.
Thackeray instructed the party machinery to reconnect with former office bearers, candidates, and even those who have been inactive, emphasising that the party must appear inclusive, cohesive, and people-focused ahead of the civic polls.
With the much-anticipated Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections on the horizon, Thackeray laid particular stress on booth-level preparedness. He reportedly asked workers to rigorously examine and update voter lists, suggesting that ground-level work was more important than big-ticket rallies or events.
“Meticulous groundwork and voter engagement are non-negotiable. We cannot afford to be casual at any level,” Thackeray reportedly told his cadre.
When asked about a possible alliance with Shiv Sena (UBT), Nandgaonkar clarified that the topic was not on the agenda during the meeting.
“There was no discussion about any alliance. Raj Thackeray will decide on that if and when required. Right now, our primary focus is on internal discipline and strategic mobilisation,” said Nandgaonkar.
