'Only Facelift, Not New Facilities': AAP's Saurabh Bhardwaj Slams BJP’s Ayushman Arogya Mandir Claim In Delhi

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj on Saturday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he called a "false claim" of achievements during the first 100 days of the party's governance in the national capital. Bhardwaj alleged that the much-publicised Ayushman Arogya Mandirs were nothing more than old dispensaries rebranded with a new coat of paint.

"BJP has completed 100 days of government... The Delhi government claims that one of its achievements is making Ayushman Arogya Mandir at 31 places... The truth is that this is not Ayushman Arogya Mandir; it is the old dispensary of the Delhi government, which was inaugurated by the then health minister, Satyendar Jain, in 2017... Only renovation has been done from outside..." Bhardwaj said.

Addressing a press conference, Bhardwaj dismissed the BJP’s claim as "optics over substance", asserting that the infrastructure and services inside the centres have not been upgraded. According to him, the dispensaries were originally part of the AAP government’s health initiative, established under the leadership of former Health Minister Satyendar Jain.

The remarks come amid the BJP’s celebrations of completing 100 days in power in Delhi, during which it highlighted the launch of 31 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs as a key milestone in improving public healthcare.

However, AAP maintains that the facilities existed well before the BJP came to power, and that the current administration has merely renovated the exterior and changed the name without introducing any meaningful reforms or expansions in services.
