In a significant political development, JanaSena chief Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday proposed and endorsed the name of N. Chandrababu Naidu as the chief ministerial candidate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Andhra Pradesh. The meeting, which took place in Vijayawada, saw the presence of prominent leaders including TDP Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, JanaSena chief Pawan Kalyan, state BJP chief Daggubati Purandeswari, and other MLAs.
Addressing the gathering, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu expressed gratitude, stating, "All MLAs of BJP, Janasena, and TDP have given their consent for me to become Andhra Pradesh's upcoming Chief Minister of NDA government." This declaration followed a meeting earlier in the day where legislators from the Telugu Desam Party, Janasena, and BJP of the NDA convened to elect TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu as their leader in the assembly.
Anticipation surrounds the upcoming swearing-in ceremony, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Cabinet colleagues expected to attend, according to TDP’s official news bulletin. A TDP spokesperson hinted at the possibility of additional leaders joining Naidu in the oath-taking ceremony, suggesting that announcements could be made as early as Tuesday night.
