Union Minister Jitendra Singh has said that Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) is a "miscarriage of history, justice, and India’s foreign policy" and asserted that if anyone can bring it back to India, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at an event organized by the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Forum and Mirpur Balidan Samiti, Singh stated, “I cannot say when it will happen, but if anyone has the capacity to do it, it is Modi… Modi hai to Mumkin hai.”
Singh, a Member of Parliament from Jammu and Kashmir and a minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), was addressing the gathering on the 25th anniversary of the February 22, 1994, Parliamentary resolution, which reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. The resolution had also demanded that Pakistan vacate all areas it occupied through aggression.
Blaming India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Singh claimed that PoJK was the outcome of historical miscalculations. He argued that the Partition of India was one of the greatest blunders, which led to PoJK’s creation. He further stated that Nehru and Muhammad Ali Jinnah were responsible for the Partition in 1947, despite Mahatma Gandhi and even sections of the Muslim community opposing it.
