Prashant Kishor Questions BJP Leader’s Role In Minority Medical College Trust In Bihar

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Sunday raised serious questions over the management of MGM Medical College in Bihar, targeting BJP State President Dilip Jaiswal and his family's alleged involvement in the college’s trust despite its designation as a minority institution meant for the Sikh community.

Speaking to reporters, Kishor said, “A mistake may have been made in the past — I’m not an expert on that. But what is clear is that this is a minority medical college, established specifically to serve the Sikh community. At the time of its founding, it was clearly stated that at least two-thirds of the trust members would always be from the Sikh community.”

He went on to question the current composition of the trust that governs the college and demanded transparency. “The real issue isn’t past paperwork — it’s whether the college is being run according to the minority guidelines it was built upon. Is two-thirds of the trust Sikh today?” Kishor asked.

Turning his attention to Dilip Jaiswal, Kishor raised concerns about how the BJP leader — who he claimed once worked as a clerk at the college — rose to become a trustee and managing partner. “How did a clerk suddenly become a trustee? How did his son and son-in-law also become part of this trust? What is the process behind it?” he questioned.

The allegations have triggered political ripples in the state, especially as the Assembly elections approach. Kishor’s remarks are being seen as part of a broader campaign to expose what he claims is the misuse of institutions by politically connected individuals.

MGM Medical College, located in Kishanganj, is registered as a minority institution and receives certain constitutional protections under Article 30, which allows minorities to establish and administer their own educational institutions. If proven, any violation of the trust composition could have legal and regulatory consequences.
