In a scathing attack on the opposition INDI alliance, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that socialist parties have turned their backs on minorities and constitutional values, accusing them of pushing the nation towards “Namazwad” instead of true social justice.
“These socialists don't even care about minorities. By bowing down before the Mullahs and Maulavis, they want to convert 'Samajwad' into 'Namazwad'. 'Pakke Namazwadi hai, RJD ho ya Congress, kitni tadap hain kathmulla voto ki pyaas mein',” Trivedi charged while addressing a gathering in Delhi.
Trivedi further sharpened his criticism of the opposition parties, especially the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Samajwadi Party, warning that their alleged appeasement of orthodox religious leaders could pose a threat to the very foundations of India’s constitutional democracy.
“I want to say to people of Bihar that there are two options. The INDI alliance, which will try to implement Sharia through the back door if it comes to power, and on the other side, our government, which will remain committed to protecting Baba Saheb's constitution,” Trivedi said.
He went on to question the concept of Waqf, arguing that it had no basis in Islam’s holy text. “There is no word called Waqf in the Quran. This is the creation of Mullah, Maulavi. In the Quran, it is said that you should spend as much as you can. Do not hold,” Trivedi declared.
Accusing the opposition of plotting to “make fun of Baba Saheb's constitution and convert it into a Maulvi script,” he alleged that if their government came to power, “they will throw Baba Saheb Ambedkar's constitution in the dustbin and implement Sharia law.”
Trivedi also referred to the Congress party’s past, citing the Shah Bano case. “400 seats have been crossed only once in India's history, that in 1985. The Congress, which is leading the INDI alliance, overruled the Supreme Court's decision on Shah Bano in the Parliament and put Sharia above the Constitution,” he reminded the audience.
