‘Send Him To UP, We’ll Handle Him’: Yogi Adityanath Slams SP MLA Abu Azmi Over Aurangzeb Remark

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a fierce attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Abu Azmi, demanding his expulsion from the party over his controversial remarks praising Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Yogi went a step further, suggesting that Azmi should be sent to UP, where his government would ensure ‘special treatment’ for him.

"Samajwadi Party… usko party se nikal do, UP bhej do, baaki upchaar hum apne aap karwa lenge," Yogi said in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, in a direct challenge to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party, Yogi questioned how SP leaders could criticize the Maha Kumbh while defending a leader who glorified Aurangzeb—the same ruler who destroyed temples. "Does he have the right to stay in our country? Why hasn’t SP taken action against him? Why didn’t they condemn his statement?" he asked.

Abu Azmi, who has been suspended from the Maharashtra Assembly for the entire session, has faced backlash from BJP leaders and the Mahayuti government for his remarks. Maharashtra Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil said Azmi’s statement had “hurt the dignity of the House.”
