In a strategic move ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the Congress party staged a significant morcha in Ratnagiri to challenge the ruling Mahayuti alliance. State Congress president Nana Patole used the rally as a platform to launch a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Patole accused Modi and Shah of orchestrating a misleading narrative. "400 paar was the fake narrative set by them, why did they not declare 250 paar now for the assembly elections?" he questioned during his address on Monday. This comment reflects his criticism of what he perceives as false promises made by the central leadership.

He further alleged that the current government is engaged in selling Maharashtra's assets. "Modi and Shah came to Maharashtra to see how much property remained in the state. The work of selling the pride of Maharashtra is going on through the government. Therefore, CM and DCM are constantly visiting Delhi. Therefore, Congress has organised morcha to condemn the government," Patole said.

Patole also accused the BJP and Mahayuti of dishonesty regarding the construction of the Shivaji Maharaj memorial in the Arabian Sea. Additionally, he indicated that the seat-sharing arrangements within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition would be finalized in August, with candidate declarations expected in September.

In response to internal party issues, Patole noted that senior Congress leaders have taken action against members who cross-voted in state council elections, promising that the public would soon learn of these actions.

Patole urged party workers to unite for the Maha Vikas Aghadi and emphasized Congress's strong presence in Konkan. "Konkan follows Congress ideology. There are many gram panchayats won by the Congress. The party is in the minds of Konkan citizens but leaders should reach to them. People don?t give importance to gundagiri and the power of wealth," he remarked.
