Maharashtra Minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane has issued a fiery response to the Nagpur violence, vowing severe action against those involved in attacking police personnel. Strongly condemning the incident, Rane said, "We will not spare those who raised their hands against the police. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. What kind of protest is this? Why do these jihadis always target the police? Those who attacked our police will remember their 'Abba' in Pakistan."
The violence in Nagpur’s Mahal area left 33 police personnel and five civilians injured, with one officer reportedly attacked with an axe. In response, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered strict action against the accused, and five CRPF units have been deployed in the area to restore order.
Continuing his attack, Rane emphasized his stance on Hindutva and criticized Congress for glorifying Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. "There is nothing wrong in speaking the truth and standing with Hindus. I stand with Sanatan. Aurangzeb must be removed from the textbooks — this is Congress' sin," he declared. He also recalled past instances of violence against police officers, stating, "Earlier, similar protests were held in Bhiwandi and Azad Maidan, where police personnel were attacked. But this time, our 'Deva Bhau' will take such action that these people will remember their 'Abba' in Pakistan."
Rane also hit out at Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray, who had accused the BJP of trying to turn Maharashtra into the next Manipur. "Aaditya Thackeray has no right to make allegations because, during Uddhav Thackeray's tenure, slogans in favor of Pakistan were raised," Rane countered.
Blaming Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi for allegedly instigating the violence, Rane claimed that the unrest was preplanned to tarnish the government's image. "Abu Azmi is responsible for this. He started this issue. This was preplanned violence to defame the government. We will not spare those who raise their hands on our police personnel. Strict action will be taken in this matter," he said in Mumbai.
