Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi over the Enforcement Directorate (ED) chargesheet in the National Herald case.

Referring to the allegations, Sarma questioned Rahul Gandhi’s frequent criticism of industrialists. “Rahul Gandhi often accuses Adani and Ambani of how they have made so much money. My question is how, being from a political family, he has learnt business tricks to convert ₹50 lakhs into ₹2000 crores. Tell us the same formula so that I can do this for Assam,” he said.

The Assam CM also took a swipe at the Congress organisation, claiming that the party is in a shambles while the Gandhis allegedly accumulate wealth. “Congress people should demand Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to give back this ₹2000 crore to the party. Have you seen the condition of Congress party offices?” Sarma remarked.

He alleged that the ordinary Congress workers remain deprived while the top leadership benefits financially. “People don't realise that Gandhis are minting money but ordinary Congress people are being deprived,” he said.
