Investigators confirmed on Thursday that Prakashchand Hiran, also known as Prakash Jain, co-owner of the Rajkot TRP Gaming Zone, was among those killed in the tragic fire on May 25. This conclusion came after six more DNA samples matched with those of the missing individuals.
Hiran was one of six TRP Game Zone partners facing charges of culpable homicide (not amounting to murder) related to the fire. His family had reported him missing on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, forensic investigators confirmed the identities of 25 of the 27 DNA samples and remains collected from the fire site. A total of 28 people are suspected to have died in the fire, with the 28th victim listed as “human remains” in the First Information Report (FIR).
Besides Hiran, the police confirmed that Khyatiben Ratilal Savaliya, Haritaben Ratilal Savaliya, Tisha Ashokbhai Modasiya, Kalpesh Pravinbhai Bagda, and Mitesh Babubhai Jadav, all from Rajkot, were among the deceased.
Prabhav Joshi, District Collector of Rajkot, told The Indian Express that the DNA sample of Hiran’s mother was taken after his brother came from Vadodara to report him missing.
