Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Kalkaji assembly constituency candidate Ramesh Bidhuri on Sunday rejected the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) claim that he is the BJP’s chief ministerial face for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
Calling the statement by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal “baseless” and “misleading propaganda,” Bidhuri emphasized that his focus remains on serving the people and strengthening the party’s position in the elections.
“I Have No Claim to Any Position”
In a press statement issued in Hindi, Bidhuri, a former two-time Member of Parliament and three-time MLA, expressed gratitude for the opportunities the BJP has given him over the years.
“The party has trusted me and given me so much. I have no claim to any position. My only objective is to work for the people and ensure BJP’s success in the elections,” Bidhuri said.
He accused Kejriwal of spreading false narratives and dismissed the suggestion of being a contender for the chief minister’s post. “Kejriwal’s propaganda is nothing more than an attempt to divert attention. Let me make it clear: I am not in the race for any post,” he added.
BJP Gearing Up for Victory
Bidhuri further claimed that Kejriwal’s assertion inadvertently acknowledges the BJP’s growing momentum in the national capital. “By speculating about BJP’s CM face, Kejriwal has admitted that the BJP will form the government in Delhi after the February 5 elections,” he said.
AAP vs. BJP: The Battle for Delhi
As Delhi gears up for the assembly polls, the BJP and AAP have intensified their campaign efforts. While the BJP is aiming to end AAP’s nearly decade-long rule in Delhi, AAP has been targeting BJP leaders with accusations of corruption and poor governance.
