Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday criticized the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of failing to cooperate with the Centre on crucial governance issues. She emphasized that her administration is committed to addressing key concerns, including women’s safety, infrastructure development, and tackling international crime syndicates operating in the capital.

Speaking at a press briefing, CM Gupta stated, “Whenever the Government of India sought details on small issues that were causing big problems in Delhi, the then (AAP) government never cooperated. Detailed discussions have now been held on what needs to be fixed and where.”

Highlighting her government’s immediate priorities, Gupta said that discussions on women’s safety had taken center stage, with concrete policy measures set to be introduced soon. “Primary discussions were held in Delhi from the point of view of women’s safety, and soon, work will be done on making policies on this,” she assured.

She also addressed pressing concerns related to infrastructure, stating that solutions for Public Works Department (PWD) issues were actively being discussed. Additionally, she noted that national security and the growing threat of international gangs in Delhi had been examined in depth.

With the BJP-led administration now in charge, Gupta reaffirmed her commitment to resolving these long-standing issues with transparency and efficiency. “Unlike the previous government, we will ensure complete cooperation and coordination with all agencies to make Delhi a safer and better city,” she added.
