Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has received a death threat, with the caller demanding a ransom of ?50 lakh. The alarming incident took place on November 5, when a threatening call was made to the Bandra police station's landline. According to police officials, the caller threatened to kill the actor if the money was not paid.
The call, which came at 1:21 PM, was answered by Constable Santosh Ghodake. The unidentified caller specifically named Shah Rukh Khan, saying, "Shah Rukh Khan is from Mannat, Bandstand. If he doesn?t pay ?50 lakh, I will kill him." When the constable pressed for more information, the caller identified himself only as "Hindustani" before abruptly hanging up.
The police promptly registered a case, and an investigation was launched into the matter. The police traced the call to Raipur, where they believe the suspect, identified as Faizan, resides. A team has already been dispatched to Raipur for further inquiries.
This isn't the first time that Shah Rukh Khan has been the target of such threats. After the tremendous success of his films Pathaan and Jawan in 2023, the actor had previously received similar threats, which led to an increase in his security measures.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9) Dixit Gedam confirmed that an offense has been registered under Sections 308(4) (extortion) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act at the Bandra police station. However, no arrests have been made as of now, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Shah Rukh Khan?s safety remains a concern, and the authorities are taking swift action to ensure his protection.
