Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Waikar narrowly escaped unhurt after his car was hit by a tempo near the SRPF camp gate in Jogeshwari late Sunday night. The incident took place on the Western Express Highway when an allegedly drunk tempo driver rammed into Waikar's vehicle.
Reports confirm that Waikar was inside the car during the collision. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident has raised serious concerns over road safety and drunk driving.
Police Investigation Underway
Authorities rushed to the spot and have initiated an inquiry to determine the cause of the mishap. Early investigations suggest the tempo driver was intoxicated, with witnesses claiming erratic driving before the crash.
?The tempo appeared to be speeding and swerved recklessly before hitting Waikar?s car,? said a witness. Police are awaiting further details to confirm whether alcohol played a role in the driver?s behavior.
A Veteran Politician's Close Call
