Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has inaugurated the expansion of the Morning Tiffin Scheme for students in government-aided schools across the state. The event, held on July 14, saw the CM personally feeding children, symbolizing the government’s commitment to student welfare and nutrition.
The Morning Tiffin Scheme, initially launched to provide nutritious meals to students, aims to improve attendance and academic performance by ensuring that children start their day with a healthy breakfast. The expansion of this scheme is set to benefit thousands more students across Tamil Nadu.
During the inauguration, CM Stalin emphasized the importance of proper nutrition for schoolchildren. “A healthy start to the day is crucial for the physical and mental development of our students. This expansion will ensure that more children receive the nourishment they need to excel in their studies and lead healthy lives,” he stated.
The Chief Minister’s gesture of feeding children by hand was met with appreciation from parents, teachers, and the broader community. It highlighted the personal dedication of the state government to the well-being of its younger citizens.
Education and social welfare have been top priorities for the current administration. The expansion of the Morning Tiffin Scheme is part of a broader initiative to enhance the quality of education and support systems in government-aided schools. Other measures include infrastructure improvements, provision of learning materials, and various student welfare programs.
Teachers and staff at the participating schools expressed their gratitude for the scheme. “This initiative has made a significant difference in our students’ lives. We have seen better attendance and more energetic participation in class since the introduction of the Morning Tiffin,” said a headteacher from one of the schools.
Parents also voiced their support, noting the positive impact on their children’s health and academic performance. “We are thankful to the government for this initiative. Knowing that our children start their day with a nutritious meal gives us peace of mind,” shared a parent.
The expansion of the Morning Tiffin Scheme is expected to set a benchmark for other states in India, showcasing Tamil Nadu’s commitment to prioritizing education and child welfare. As the program continues to grow, the state government hopes to see long-term benefits in the form of healthier, more engaged, and better-performing students.
