Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s remarks on alleged voter list manipulations. Yadav downplayed the issue, attributing it to routine electoral adjustments.
“It is a matter of removing or adding names in the voter list during elections. Even in Maharashtra, lakhs of votes were collected later. It’s merely a case of addition or subtraction, but they are trying to make it an issue,” Yadav said while speaking to the media.
On INDIA Alliance Dynamics
Responding to queries about the INDIA alliance’s strategy in the upcoming elections, Yadav clarified the coalition’s approach. “We were asked the question in the context of Delhi. At the national level, we have the INDIA alliance, and as far as Bihar is concerned, we’ve had a grand alliance from the beginning. We are united in our goal to challenge the BJP,” he stated.
He also highlighted the alliance’s flexibility across states. “In the Lok Sabha elections, AAP fought separately in Punjab, and Left parties contested separately in Kerala. These regional nuances do not affect our commitment to the INDIA alliance nationally,” Yadav explained.
BJP’s Accusations
The BJP has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of voter fraud in Delhi, citing Kejriwal’s alleged remarks as evidence. The controversy has sparked a political slugfest, with INDIA alliance partners rallying to defend their member.
Alliance Solidarity
Yadav’s comments are seen as an attempt to reinforce the unity of the INDIA alliance amid questions about coordination between its members. By addressing both the voter list controversy and alliance dynamics, Yadav aims to dispel doubts about the coalition’s coherence ahead of key electoral battles.
