In a powerful message of national unity, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) chief and veteran leader Sharad Pawar on Tuesday extended his full support to Operation Sindoor, asserting that all political parties have resolved to stand behind the government and the armed forces in the fight against terrorism.
"In the all-party meeting, we decided to stand united with the government. Whatever steps are taken by the armed forces and Prime Minister Modi, we will support them," Pawar said during a media interaction in Pune.
He emphasized the importance of a united national front, especially when dealing with cross-border terrorism.
"We also agreed that terrorism cannot be tolerated, and that terrorist launch pads must be destroyed. The targets selected yesterday were the camps from where terrorists were operating. There was no civilian damage in the strike," he added.
Pawar’s remarks come in the wake of India’s surgical counter-terror operation, which targeted multiple terror training camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). These strikes were carried out in retaliation for repeated infiltration attempts and deadly attacks orchestrated by terror groups operating from across the border.
Sources have confirmed that the operation hit strategic terror hubs used by groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen. The Indian Army ensured precise targeting to avoid civilian casualties, a point reiterated by senior officials and now backed by leaders like Pawar.
