Amid rising tensions and a barrage of misinformation from across the border, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly rebutted Pakistan’s propaganda that Indian armed forces targeted religious structures.
Speaking to reporters, Abdullah said, "They (Pakistan) didn't just target one community... they fired heavily near Gurudwaras, temples, Madrasas and Dargahs." His remarks came in response to claims made by Pakistani media and officials accusing India of deliberately attacking specific religious sites during military operations.
The CM emphasized that Pakistan’s actions on the border were not only aggressive but also dangerously indiscriminate. “When mortars are being fired near multiple religious places, it's clear that Pakistan’s intention is to provoke and polarize,” he said, urging the international community to take note of the facts on ground rather than narratives being pushed online.
Omar Abdullah’s statement aligns with India’s continued stance that its military operations, especially under heightened alert conditions, remain targeted and strategic, avoiding harm to civilian life and infrastructure as much as possible.
