Tragic Fire at Delhi Food Processing Unit Claims Three Lives, Injures Six

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated from a gas leak in one of the pipelines supplying gas to the burners used for roasting moong dal.

A devastating fire at a food processing unit in outer Delhi’s Narela area early Saturday morning resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to six others. The blaze broke out around 3:38 am at Shayam Kripa Foods Private Ltd, a facility specializing in dry moong dal processing.

The fire, which rapidly spread throughout the factory, trapped several workers inside. Emergency services responded promptly, with 14 fire tenders dispatched to the scene, according to a Delhi Fire Service (DFS) official.

Nine workers were rescued from the burning factory and taken to a nearby SHRC hospital. Unfortunately, three of them were declared dead upon arrival. The deceased have been identified as Shyam (24), Ram Singh (30), and Beerpal (42), all employees of the factory.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated from a gas leak in one of the pipelines supplying gas to the burners used for roasting moong dal. The intense heat from the fire caused a compressor inside the factory to overheat and explode, exacerbating the blaze, police reported.
