The Uttar Pradesh Assembly’s budget session commenced on a stormy note on Tuesday as opposition MLAs created a ruckus during Governor Anandiben Patel’s address. In response, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured that the government is prepared for discussions on all issues and urged the opposition to engage constructively.
Ahead of the session, CM Yogi had called upon opposition leaders to prioritize public interest and ensure smooth proceedings. “Raising issues in a structured manner will accelerate development,” he stated during an all-party meeting chaired by Speaker Satish Mahana.
The meeting saw the participation of Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Congress Legislature Party Leader Aradhana Mishra, and other key leaders. Speaker Mahana also appealed for cooperation to maintain the decorum of the House.
Meanwhile, CM Yogi inaugurated the newly constructed main gate of the Vidhan Bhawan, unveiling murals depicting historical and political events, along with episodes from the Gita. The modernization efforts aim to blend tradition with technological advancement, the state government said in a statement.
