In a major breakthrough, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Punjab Police have arrested an alleged active terrorist of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) with direct links to Pakistan’s ISI. The accused, identified as Lajar Masih, was nabbed in Kaushambi in a joint operation, preventing a potential terror attack at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
According to Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar, Masih had planned a major terror strike during the religious gathering but failed due to extensive security arrangements. “Due to intensive security checks at the Maha Kumbh, he could not execute his plan,” Kumar stated.
Masih, a resident of Kurlian village in Amritsar, was allegedly working for Swarn Singh alias Jeevan Fauji, the head of the Germany-based Babbar Khalsa module. Additional Director General (UP STF, Law and Order) Amitabh Yash confirmed that the arrest took place in the Kokhraj police station area of Kaushambi, marking a crucial blow to terror networks attempting to disrupt the event.
