Verbal Clash Between BJP MLAs Goes Viral During UP Assembly Monsoon Session, Sparks Political Debate

In a dramatic turn during the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday, two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs were involved in a heated verbal confrontation, raising eyebrows across political circles. The incident, which occurred during the 'Vision 2047' debate, was captured on camera and quickly went viral on social media.

The lawmakers involved were Rajesh Chaudhary, representing Mathura, and Saurabh Srivastava from Varanasi. Reports say the clash erupted when it came time to decide who would speak in the assembly on behalf of the ruling government. Chaudhary reportedly accused Srivastava of not forwarding his name to the Speaker for the opportunity to speak.

In the viral footage, colleagues can be seen attempting to restrain Chaudhary as he moved aggressively toward Srivastava, who was seated two rows ahead. The exchange grew heated, with both legislators trading sharp words before other MLAs intervened to calm the situation.

The confrontation soon drew political commentary. Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav shared the video on his X account, criticizing the BJP’s internal functioning. “Badsalooki aur badzubaani hi BJP ki tarakki ki seedi hai, nindniye,” Yadav wrote, translating to “Misconduct and abusive language are the ladder to success in the BJP. Condemnable!”

Chaudhary responded strongly, questioning Yadav’s silence on a separate incident last month involving derogatory remarks against his wife, Dimple Yadav, by Muslim cleric Maulana Sajid Rashidi. “Akhilesh Yadav ji, what is truly condemnable is when a fanatic grossly insulted your wife and you remained silent,” Chaudhary said. He added, “If you have even a shred of shame left, respond to the fanatic who insulted the honour of your household. We stand with Dimple ji in support of women’s dignity.”

The cleric’s remarks against Dimple Yadav, made during a televised debate, had sparked outrage and legal action, including the filing of an FIR. Chaudhary’s statement reflects ongoing sensitivities in Uttar Pradesh politics surrounding communal issues, women’s dignity, and partisan accountability.
