The Worli hit-and-run case has captured widespread attention and sparked public outcry following the tragic incident involving Mihir Shah, who allegedly fled the scene after a fatal accident. In response to this alarming incident, NCP-SCP leader Rohit Pawar has vehemently called for justice, underscoring the importance of accountability regardless of the accused’s background.
“The accused, no matter who they are, should be punished in such cases,” Pawar asserted, reflecting the public sentiment demanding swift and impartial legal action. His statement comes amidst controversy over the bail granted to the accused’s father, Rajesh Shah, adding fuel to the public’s dissatisfaction with the perceived inequities in the justice system.
Pawar’s concerns highlight broader issues regarding the fair application of law and the frustrations among ordinary citizens when cases involving influential individuals appear to evade timely and fair outcomes. “The court must explain why the father of the accused was granted bail while the accused remains at large,” Pawar emphasized, echoing the sentiments of many demanding transparency and accountability in legal proceedings.
According to police reports, the incident unfolded early in the morning when Mihir Shah, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, fled the scene after a fatal collision in Worli. Before fleeing, Shah attempted to tamper with evidence by removing the car’s number plate and a Shiv Sena sticker in an apparent bid to evade identification.
