Bihar Minister and five-time MLA Nitin Nabin formally assumed charge as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Working President on Monday, marking a significant generational shift in the party’s central leadership. The ceremony took place at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi in the presence of senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda.

Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva, and several senior party functionaries also attended the event, underlining the importance the BJP leadership has attached to Nabin’s elevation.

At 45 years of age, Nitin Nabin has become the youngest National Working President in the party’s history. He is currently serving as Bihar’s Road Construction Minister and has earlier handled key departments such as Urban Development and Housing and the Law Department, giving him wide administrative exposure at the state level.

As he arrived at the BJP headquarters, party workers welcomed him with loud slogans and celebrations. Nabin paid floral tributes to the party’s ideological icons Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, reaffirming his commitment to the BJP’s core principles.

Nitin Nabin hails from a strong political background. He is the son of veteran BJP leader Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha and has been associated with the party’s organisational work for several years, alongside his electoral career. His rise is seen as a blend of grassroots politics, administrative experience, and organisational discipline.

Before leaving for Delhi, Nabin spoke to ANI and expressed gratitude to the people of Bihar and his constituency. He said, “People of my constituency gave me blessings. With their blessings, this is happening.”

He also acknowledged the role of the party’s top leadership in trusting him with a national responsibility. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the central leadership, Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister and everyone in the central leadership for giving me this opportunity. I have the Prime Minister’s blessings, and I will further advance the guidance and leadership he has provided,” Nabin said.
