Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed gratitude to Gulf nations for supporting nearly one crore Indians living in the region during the ongoing West Asia conflict, highlighting their role in ensuring safety and essential services.

Speaking during his Mann Ki Baat address, the Prime Minister said the situation in West Asia has remained tense over the past month, affecting multiple countries and raising global concerns. He noted that despite expectations of stability after the COVID-19 pandemic, the world continues to face fresh conflicts and uncertainty.

Modi pointed out that the crisis has also started impacting global fuel supplies, with pressure building on petrol and diesel availability. However, he assured that India is managing the situation effectively due to strong diplomatic ties and preparedness developed over the past decade.

The Prime Minister urged citizens to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours, stressing that misinformation can create unnecessary panic. He also cautioned political leaders against turning the situation into a political issue, stating that national interest must come first during such critical times.

Highlighting India’s diplomatic efforts, Modi recently held discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and has also been in touch with global leaders including US President Donald Trump to monitor the evolving situation.

He reiterated that unity and responsible behaviour are essential as the country navigates the challenges arising from the international crisis.
