Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has directed officials to launch a special statewide campaign to relocate all government offices from rented premises to permanent, government-owned buildings, emphasizing financial prudence, long-term planning, and public convenience. Chairing the meeting of the Deputy CM’s Project Monitoring Cell at Mantralaya, he also issued instructions to expedite construction of new buildings by ensuring timely allocation of funds.

Ajit Pawar stressed that development across Maharashtra is picking up speed, and every effort must be made to ensure citizens are not inconvenienced during project execution. He underscored the importance of efficient transport planning, timely execution, and on-ground coordination to deliver results within deadlines.

A key focus area during the review was the Ahilyanagar–Beed–Parli railway project, which Pawar described as vital to the economic upliftment of Marathwada. He directed concerned departments to accelerate work on this project without delay.

The meeting brought together senior officials from across departments and regions — including finance, public works, agriculture, transport, and urban planning — both in-person and via video conference. Top-level bureaucrats such as O.P. Gupta (Finance), Manisha Mhaiskar (PWD), Rajeshkumar Jaiswal (MahaRail), and Vikaschandra Rastogi (Agriculture) were present, along with municipal commissioners, collectors, and divisional heads.

Ajit Pawar also took stock of over 20 major infrastructure and development projects, including:

  • Pune Metro (Shivajinagar–Hinjewadi, Lines 1 & 2)
  • Pune–Nashik High-Speed Railway
  • Pune Outer Ring Road
  • Rewas–Redi Coastal Highway (boosting Konkan tourism)
  • Development of Lonavala Skywalk and Tiger Point
  • Medical colleges in Satara and Usar (Alibag)
