Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav took a strong stand against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of using "every decision for votes" and misleading both Hindus and Muslims for political gain. Speaking at a press conference, Yadav expressed his discontent with BJP's approach towards the Waqf Bill and its overall political tactics. He stated, "Every decision of BJP is for votes… Samajwadi Party is against the Waqf Bill. They (BJP) want complete control… Whether it is GST, demonetization or other decisions, they (BJP) work to snatch something or the other from the people."
Yadav further questioned BJP's stance on appeasement, pointing out the irony of their actions. "They used to say that we (opposition) are doing politics of appeasement, are they (BJP) not doing appeasement by distributing kits on Eid? Till now, they have been misleading Hindus and now they have started misleading Muslims also," he added.
