In a strong message of unity ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, state BJP president Dilip Jaiswal on Saturday reaffirmed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) remains intact and that the long-awaited seat-sharing formula and list of candidates will be unveiled on Sunday at 11 AM.
Addressing a press conference, Jaiswal said, “Everything is fine in the NDA. Seat-sharing arrangements and tickets will be finalized by the central leadership. Important announcements will be made tomorrow.”
His statement comes amid speculation over differences among NDA allies — including JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) — regarding the distribution of seats.
Earlier in the day, RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha took to X (formerly Twitter) to dismiss rumours, writing, “Don’t pay attention to the rumours floating around. The talks are not yet concluded. Wait! I don’t know how such news is being circulated in the media. If someone is planting news, it’s deceit, it’s betrayal.”
Meanwhile, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who heads the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), expressed hope for a “respectable number of seats” but clarified he was not making demands. “It will be a humiliation for me and my party if we are not given at least 15 seats. If we get that, we can easily win 8–9 seats and emerge as a recognised party,” Manjhi said.
He added, “I have been helping the NDA for a long time. So, I am requesting, not demanding. Even if we don’t contest, our party will continue supporting NDA partners.”
