Union Home Minister Amit Shah has initiated talks with all chief ministers across the country, urging them to identify Pakistan nationals residing in their respective states. Shah has instructed the states to take immediate steps to ensure the expulsion and return of these individuals to Pakistan.
This directive comes amid rising tensions following the recent Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 innocent lives were lost. Shah's move aims to tighten security measures and ensure that all foreign nationals, particularly Pakistanis, are properly monitored and accounted for within India’s borders.
The Home Minister's request highlights the Indian government's growing concerns over national security and its firm stance on cross-border terrorism. State governments have been asked to collaborate with the Centre and provide the necessary details about Pakistan nationals living within their jurisdictions, ensuring their visas are cancelled and their departure is expedited.
