Baseless Allegations, No Major Power Cuts: Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma Hits Back At Atishi

Escalating the political face-off in the national capital, Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma on Friday dismissed allegations made by Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi regarding widespread power cuts, calling them "baseless" and politically motivated.

"Atishi's allegations are baseless. We haven't seen any such power cuts. Maybe somewhere, power must have gone for half an hour," Verma said while addressing the media. The Minister’s remarks came after Atishi accused the administration of failing to manage Delhi's power supply amid rising summer temperatures.

Verma further added that the Delhi government was actively working even in Atishi's own constituency to ensure better infrastructure and services. “We are working in Atishi's constituency and this time we won't let waterlogging happen in her area also,” he asserted, hinting at preparations for the upcoming monsoon season.

He said that the government is confident in its anti-waterlogging measures and expects minimal disruptions this year. “We are also waiting for monsoon... we have full confidence that there won't be much waterlogging this time,” he added.
