The decision by Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to deny approval for a Holi Milan event on its campus has sparked a major political controversy, with BJP MP Manoj Tiwari strongly condemning the move. Tiwari, known for his vocal stance on cultural and religious rights, warned that those responsible for the administration of AMU would soon face repercussions.

“Everyone in this country has the right to practice their religion, worship, and follow their cultural traditions. The administrators of Aligarh University have brought this upon themselves, and Yogi Ji will deal with them appropriately,” Tiwari stated, referring to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who has been at the forefront of implementing policies promoting cultural inclusivity in educational institutions.

Political Outrage Over AMU’s Decision

The controversy began when AMU authorities reportedly declined permission for students to organize a Holi Milan celebration on the campus, citing administrative reasons. The move has drawn criticism from BJP leaders and right-wing organizations, who argue that it reflects an anti-Hindu bias.

Tiwari’s remarks signal the growing political pressure on the university administration, which has often found itself at the center of ideological debates. His warning suggests that the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government could take action against the university if it perceives discrimination against Hindu festivals.
