In a sharp attack on the ruling BJP, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday accused the party of systematically weakening the Constitution and vowed to uphold the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Addressing a public gathering in Uttar Pradesh, Yadav said, “BJP is weakening the Constitution. We will work to make India stronger by following the path shown by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.”
Emphasising the values enshrined in the Constitution, he added, “The Constitution given by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar shows us all the way to live life with dignity.” His remarks come at a time when the opposition is increasingly rallying around the theme of constitutional protection and social justice ahead of upcoming state and national elections.
Yadav’s statement reflects the SP’s continued efforts to project itself as a defender of democratic principles and the rights of marginalized communities, drawing inspiration from Ambedkar’s enduring legacy.
