Union Minister Kiren Rijiju hit out at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and the Congress party over their recent personal attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling the opposition’s tactics “low-level politics.”
Speaking to reporters, Rijiju said, “Everyone has the right to campaign for the Bihar elections. But we are all saddened by the very low-level politics that Congress and RJD have engaged in in the recent past, and especially, they have been personally attacking and abusing the Prime Minister for so many years.”
He further referenced the Prime Minister’s late mother, adding, “The country is angry with the actions of Congress and RJD regarding the Prime Minister’s mother, who is no more in this world. The people of Bihar are very angry and the people of the whole country are very worried about the level to which politics has been taken by Congress and RJD.”
Rijiju’s remarks come ahead of PM Modi’s rally in Purnea, Bihar, as the state gears up for a high-stakes election. Political analysts suggest the statement is part of the BJP’s strategy to contrast its narrative of decency and respect with what it calls the opposition’s personal attacks and inflammatory politics.
