Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA-elect Rekha Gupta will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on Thursday, February 20. Gupta, a first-time legislator from Shalimar Bagh, will head a cabinet comprising six ministers.
President Droupadi Murmu formally appointed Gupta and her cabinet, as per a gazette notification issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The notification states that the appointments will take effect from the moment they are sworn in.

The BJP has returned to power in Delhi after a long gap of 27 years. In the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections, the saffron party secured a decisive victory with 48 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by outgoing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, managed to win 22 seats.
