A freshly installed political hoarding outside the Nishad Party office in Lucknow has ignited speculation about the party’s relationship with its ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The billboard, which reads, “Don’t test Nishad’s strength, don’t lose trust,” is being widely interpreted as a public signal of dissatisfaction.
The Nishad Party, which currently holds ministerial posts in the state government, has long voiced concerns over what it sees as a lack of acknowledgment for its contribution. Brijendra Tripathi, a senior party leader who sponsored the hoarding, emphasized that the Nishad community has been instrumental in securing victories for the BJP but feels that its support and trust are often taken for granted. He described the hoarding not as a protest but as the “voice of society.”
This development comes shortly after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad, raising hopes of strengthened coordination. Yet, the public display suggests that underlying tensions persist.
