Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Mizoram, lauded India’s armed forces, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to citizen welfare, and highlighted reforms aimed at boosting tourism and economic activity across the country.
Speaking about India’s military achievements, PM Modi said, “During Operation Sindoor, you all saw how our soldiers taught a lesson to those who sponsor terror. The whole nation was filled with pride in our armed forces. In this operation, made-in-India weapons played a significant role in protecting our country.” His remarks emphasized the role of indigenous defense technology in safeguarding national security and the pride of the nation in its armed forces.
On development, he stressed inclusive growth and local empowerment: “Our government is committed to the welfare of every citizen, every family, and every region. It is through the empowerment of the people that a developed India will be built. In this journey, I am confident that the people of Mizoram will play a very important role.”
Highlighting tourism reforms, PM Modi said, “As part of the reforms, GST on most hotels has been reduced to only 5%. Traveling to various places, staying in hotels, and dining out will become cheaper. This will encourage more people to travel, explore, and enjoy different parts of our country. Tourist hubs like the Northeast will particularly benefit from this.”
