Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief, Eknath Shinde, called upon party workers to gear up for the upcoming municipal and local body elections, urging them to aim for a sweeping victory across all levels of governance—from municipal corporations to gram sabhas. Shinde emphasized the need for complete dominance in the local self-government elections, urging his party workers, known as Shiv Sainiks, to strive for a "two hundred percent" win.
"We must capture everything, from the municipal corporation to the gram sabha. We have to win big in all local self-government bodies," Shinde said, expressing absolute confidence in the party's chances. He encouraged party workers to tap into their inner strength and push the boundaries of their efforts. "For a Shiv Sainik, nothing is impossible. We have twelve elephants on our wrist, and we can achieve anything," Shinde added, rallying the troops with his words of determination.
The Deputy CM underlined the historical significance of the upcoming elections, declaring that no party had achieved such a massive victory in the past. "The responsibility on us has increased," Shinde stated, reinforcing the importance of securing a decisive win. He called for heightened efforts from all party members, asserting that they must work faster and harder to meet the challenge. "From now on, we will have to work twice as fast, even four times," he assured, promising tireless dedication to the people of Maharashtra.
Shinde also highlighted the importance of unity within the party and the role it would play in ensuring Shiv Sena’s continued success. "With the support of all of us, the saffron of Shiv Sena will continue to fly high," he said, instilling a sense of collective purpose and commitment.
In addition to his electoral rallying, Shinde marked the 99th birth anniversary of Shiv Sena founder, Balasaheb Thackeray, with a sharp critique of Uddhav Thackeray, accusing his former ally of abandoning Balasaheb’s principles for personal political gain. "You left the thoughts of Balasaheb Thackeray in 2019 only for a CM chair. You trampled on Balasaheb's thoughts, so you have no moral right to talk about the Balasaheb Thackeray memorial," Shinde remarked during a Shivoutsav event held at Bandra Kurla Complex.
Reflecting on his time as Deputy CM, Shinde spoke emotionally about the recognition and love he received from the people of Maharashtra. "I received the opportunity to serve the people of Maharashtra wholeheartedly for two and a half years. At the same time, the recognition I received as a beloved brother of 2.4 crore sisters in the state is greater than all positions," Shinde said, highlighting his deep connection with the people.
With the municipal elections drawing near, Eknath Shinde’s call to action signals a full-throttle campaign for Shiv Sena to dominate the political landscape in Maharashtra at the local level.
