In the wake of heightened security concerns in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has urged citizens to remain calm and follow official advisories, particularly in situations involving suspected military objects such as drones or explosives.
Addressing the public, CM Mann said, “There is an advisory by the military that if there is an explosion, inform the Police or Army immediately. Do not rush to the location on your own because there might be some live parts (of the object) too.”
The Chief Minister emphasized that unnecessary panic and speculation can worsen the situation and hinder the efforts of security forces. “So, I urge everyone to not panic or believe rumours. The military is updating you every 2 hours,” he added.
Reiterating the state’s full cooperation with the armed forces, Mann assured that all necessary logistical support is being provided. “If the military wants anything — a school or college to stay, or an ambulance — we are providing them with the same,” he stated.
His remarks come amid growing concerns over aerial threats, including reports of drone sightings and suspicious explosions in border regions.
“So, if you find a part of any bomb, drone or missile, inform Police or Army immediately. They will come there and defuse it. Don’t rush there to see it...” Mann warned, highlighting the potential danger of live explosives.
