In a fiery address at an election rally in Muzaffarpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing it of dragging Bihar into an era of “jungle raj.” Modi charged that the RJD’s tenure was defined by “Katta (gun), Krurta (cruelty), Katuta (bitterness), Kushasan (misrule), and Corruption.”

“The people of Bihar suffered under their rule. Do you want to return to that era of fear and lawlessness, or do you want development, progress, and stability?” Modi asked, as the crowd erupted in cheers.

Taking aim at both the RJD and Congress, the Prime Minister accused them of “disrespecting Chhathi Maiyya for political gain.” Questioning their alleged remarks, he thundered, “Can anyone insult Chhathi Maiyya for votes? Will the people of Bihar and this country ever tolerate such an insult?” His words drew loud applause and chants of “Modi, Modi!”

Emphasizing the deep cultural and emotional significance of the Chhath Mahaparv, Modi announced that his government is working to secure UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage status for the festival.

“Our government is making every possible effort to have Chhath Mahaparv included in UNESCO’s list. This is not just a festival — it’s a celebration of humanity, devotion, and nature,” he declared.

In a warm gesture toward the local crowd, the Prime Minister said, “Yahan ki litchi jitni meethi hoti hai, utni hi meethi hai yahan ki boli,” drawing laughter and applause, particularly from women and youth who had gathered in large numbers.

PM Modi also announced a nationwide Chhath song competition aimed at connecting the younger generation with traditional devotional music. “We want our youth to embrace the values of Chhath through its songs. These songs carry the faith, simplicity, and beauty of our culture from one generation to the next,” he said.
