Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday unveiled the official 2026 calendar at a ceremony held in Gandhinagar, presenting a visual narrative of the state’s industrial growth and cultural heritage. Designed around the theme “Atmanirbhar Bharat, Our Pride – Vocal for Local,” the calendar reflects Gujarat’s ongoing contribution to India’s self-reliance mission.

During the launch, the Chief Minister reviewed the calendar alongside Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi. The publication uses powerful imagery and crisp descriptions to depict how Gujarat has combined economic development with the preservation of its traditional art and craftsmanship.

A major focus of the 2026 calendar is Gujarat’s diverse industrial landscape. It highlights sectors that have played a crucial role in the state’s economic rise, including automobiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, semiconductors and the diamond industry. Officials said the aim was to showcase how these industries have strengthened Gujarat’s position as one of India’s leading industrial hubs while supporting local production and employment.

Alongside industrial achievements, the calendar also celebrates Gujarat’s vibrant cultural identity. Traditional art forms and crafts from different regions of the state feature prominently, offering a glimpse into its artistic legacy. Among those highlighted are the renowned Patola weaving of Patan, intricate handicrafts from Kutch, tribal Pithora paintings, colourful Bandhani textiles, the unique Rogan art tradition, and the centuries-old agate (akik) stone craftsmanship.

According to the state government, the calendar is not just a date-keeping tool but a storytelling medium that brings together Gujarat’s economic aspirations and cultural pride. Each page is intended to reflect the spirit of self-reliance by emphasising locally rooted industries and indigenous art forms.
