Haryana CM Announces 2-Year Housing Relief For Families Of Deceased Government Employees Under Amended Civil Services Rules

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Thursday that the state Cabinet has approved significant amendments to the Haryana Civil Services Rules 2016, aimed at enhancing support for the families of government employees who die in service:

  • Housing allowance granted for 2 years: In the event of a government employee’s death during active service, the deceased's family will receive a housing allowance for a period of two years.
  • Option to retain official accommodation: Families can also continue living in the government-provided residential unit for two years by paying a regular license fee.

“The Cabinet has approved amendments to the Haryana Civil Services Rules 2016. Housing facility has been ensured for the family of a deceased employee for two years… the family can retain the government accommodation for two years by paying the normal license fee,” CM Saini told reporters in Chandigarh.
