A joyous occasion quickly turned into a horrifying ordeal for 26-year-old Captain Nishad, whose marriage to Sitara on April 29 ended in fear, trauma, and public shame. What was meant to be a celebration of union became a terrifying series of nights that the groom will likely never forget.

On their wedding night, Nishad was met not with warmth, but with a shocking warning from his bride: “Touch me and you’ll be in 35 pieces. I belong to Aman.” From that moment, the groom endured three sleepless nights, fearful for his safety.

Nishad, a resident of ADA Colony, revealed that Sitara clutched a knife beneath her veil each night and warned him not to come near her. “She told me bluntly, ‘Don't touch me. I'm Aman's property.’ I was frozen,” he recounted.

According to reports, Sitara would remain awake until midnight and threaten violence if he approached. “I stayed awake fearing she might stab me in my sleep. I thought I might become another headline,” he later told relatives after gathering the courage to speak out on May 3.

The groom’s family confronted Sitara, who admitted, “I love Aman. I only married because I was forced to.” On May 25, both families convened and she reluctantly agreed in writing to remain with her husband. Despite the agreement, the threats continued.

Five days later, on May 30, Sitara fled the house by climbing the back wall. CCTV footage captured her leaving around midnight. “She ran straight into Aman’s arms,” said Ram Asare, Nishad’s father. The escape only deepened the family’s distress, subjecting them to “shame, police rounds, and endless questions from society.”

Nishad’s sister Poonam claimed that Sitara made calls to Aman openly and even threatened the family. “Aman said he would kill my brother if needed. We were terrified.”

Sitara’s father, Lakshmi Narayan, also expressed sorrow over the situation. “We tried to make her understand. She didn’t listen. What has she left us with? Just shame and pain.”

Inspector Kishore Gautam, quoted by News 24, confirmed that no FIR had been filed as both families opted for a mutual written settlement. Meanwhile, Captain Nishad remains emotionally shattered. “She never accepted me. If she returns, I don’t think I’ll be able to live with her again,” he said.

He ended with a chilling confession: “That fear still hasn’t gone away.”
