IAF Jaguar Fighter Jet Crashes Near Jamnagar: One Pilot Killed, Another Critical

In a tragic accident, an Indian Air Force (IAF) Jaguar fighter jet crashed near Gujarat’s Jamnagar Airfield, resulting in the death of one pilot while another remains in critical condition. The IAF confirmed the crash occurred late Wednesday during a routine night training mission over Suvarda village, about 12 km from Jamnagar city.

According to reports, the aircraft suffered a technical malfunction, forcing the pilots to eject. Despite their best efforts, one pilot succumbed to his injuries, while the other is currently undergoing medical treatment at a Jamnagar hospital. Expressing grief over the loss, the IAF issued an official statement: "IAF deeply regrets this loss of life and stands resolutely with the grieving family."

The Jaguar fighter jet, a twin-engine aircraft inducted into the IAF in the late 1970s, has been a crucial part of India’s air defense, specializing in deep penetration strikes and ground attack missions.

This tragedy comes just weeks after a similar Jaguar crash on March 7 near Ambala, where a pilot managed to eject safely. The latest incident has once again raised concerns over aircraft safety, prompting an IAF inquiry into the crash’s cause.
