As thick fog blankets the national capital, IndiGo Airlines has issued a travel advisory urging passengers to check the status of their flights before heading to Indira Gandhi International Airport. The airline has warned of potential delays and disruptions caused by low visibility and advised travelers to allocate extra time for their journey to the airport.

"Delhi is currently experiencing significantly reduced visibility due to fog, impacting flight schedules. Customers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport and allow extra travel time," IndiGo posted on X, adding, "Hoping for a bright, clear, sunny day ahead."

Dense Fog Disrupts Daily Life

Delhi woke up to a foggy morning on Thursday, with visibility drastically reduced across the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, cautioning residents about possible disruptions and advising them to travel safely.

According to the IMD, the city is expected to experience moderate to dense fog at isolated locations throughout the day. Surface winds, reaching speeds of up to 15 km/h, may further reduce visibility and pose challenges for commuters.

Weather Conditions and Impact

The foggy conditions have also caused a significant drop in temperatures. Delhi?s maximum temperature is predicted to hover around 17?C, while the minimum could drop to 8?C. Despite the current cold snap, the IMD has forecast "above-normal temperatures" for January.

With the fog affecting not only air traffic but also road conditions, authorities have advised residents to remain cautious while commuting and to stay updated on weather forecasts to avoid disruptions.
