Mumbai’s bustling Jogeshwari Station is set for a major transformation as it joins the ranks of Borivali, Churchgate, Mumbai Central, Bandra, and Dadar as a key railway terminus. This Rs. 69 crore upgrade promises to decongest Mumbai’s overloaded railway network and enhance connectivity.

According to Hindustan Times, significant milestones have already been reached, including track laying and the construction of a labor shed. However, crucial elements such as the cover shed, service building, platform, and station building are still under development.

Western Railway officials confirmed that Jogeshwari Terminus will help reduce the burden on Dadar, Bandra, and Mumbai Central, which currently handle an overwhelming number of trains. Additionally, the new terminus will offer better access to premium outstation trains, benefiting thousands of commuters.

"Construction at Jogeshwari Terminus is progressing well. The island platforms are nearly finished, and we expect most of the civil work to be completed by summer," a Western Railway official told Hindustan Times.

Once operational, Jogeshwari Terminus is expected to redefine Mumbai’s railway landscape, making train travel smoother and more efficient for Mumbaikars.
