Kejriwal vs ECI: AAP Launches ‘Transparentelections.in’ After Poll Body Refuses To Share Booth-Wise Vote Data

In a fresh confrontation with the Election Commission of India (ECI), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday alleged that the poll body had refused to upload Form 17C and the number of votes polled per booth despite multiple requests.

Kejriwal announced the launch of a new website, transparentelections.in, where he claimed that AAP has uploaded Form 17C for every assembly constituency, allowing voters to access detailed booth-wise polling data.

“Through the day, we will present the data of every assembly and every booth in a tabulated format so that every voter can access this information. This is something that the Election Commission should have done in the interest of transparency, but it is unfortunate that they are refusing to do it,” Kejriwal said in a post on X.

Form 17C is an essential document that records votes polled across polling booths. It provides details such as the total number of electors assigned to a polling station, the number of people who voted, those who abstained, votes counted through EVMs, and a breakdown of votes received by each candidate. The document helps candidates and their agents verify whether the recorded votes match the actual votes polled at each booth.

Kejriwal’s move is expected to intensify the political debate around electoral transparency, especially at a time when opposition parties have been raising concerns over EVM security and voter data management.

The Election Commission is yet to officially respond to Kejriwal’s allegations.
