Union Minister Kiren Rijiju made a pointed appeal to the Muslim community on Tuesday, urging them not to become a "vote bank" for the Congress and Communist parties, especially in the context of ongoing discussions surrounding the Waqf Act.
Speaking during a public address, Rijiju stated, “I appeal to the Muslims to not become a vote bank of Congress party and Communist parties. Once you become a vote bank, you are treated like a commodity.” He also emphasized that this was a cautionary message, reiterating a previous warning he had issued to these political parties. “I had warned them (Congress and Left) not to treat any community as their vote bank,” the Union Minister added.
