Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra – In a strong display of rural dissent, the Shiv Sena (UBT) on Wednesday organized a tractor rally under its “Kya Hua Tera Wada” campaign in the city’s Kranti Chowk, accusing the state government of betraying farmers with hollow promises.
Led by Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve, the rally saw a significant turnout of farmers who drove their tractors through the streets in protest. Addressing the gathering, Danve lashed out at the ruling Mahayuti alliance for failing to keep its word on several crucial issues affecting the farming community.
“The government had assured farmers of loan waivers, promised to provide them with Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their crops and guaranteed 24-hour electricity supply to their farms. However, power supply remains inconsistent,” Danve said. “The government also promised to provide solar energy solutions, but that too has not been fulfilled,” he added.
The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction has been running the “Kya Hua Tera Wada” campaign to highlight the gap between the promises made by the BJP-led government and its actual performance, especially in the agrarian sector. Farmers participating in the rally echoed the same sentiments, raising slogans and demanding accountability.
