In a heart-wrenching incident on Wednesday morning, a devastating road accident occurred in the Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh, claiming the lives of 18 people. The tragedy unfolded when a passenger bus collided with a milk tanker on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, specifically in the Behta Mujawar police station area. The double-decker sleeper bus was en route from Shivgarh in Bihar to Delhi when it met with the fatal accident.

Chilling visuals from the crash site have surfaced online, showing the catastrophic aftermath. Both the passenger bus and the milk tanker were mangled beyond recognition, with debris scattered across the expressway. Disturbingly, bodies of the deceased passengers lay amidst the wreckage, painting a grim picture of the collision's impact.

According to a DNA report, the collision resulted in the death of 18 individuals, including two women and a child. Additionally, around 20 people sustained severe injuries. Local police were quick to respond, arriving at the scene to assist with the relief efforts and ensure the injured were transported to hospitals for urgent medical treatment.

Unnao District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi provided details about the incident to the media. "Today at around 05.15 AM, a private bus coming from Motihari, Bihar collided with a milk tanker. 18 people have lost their lives and 19 others are injured in the accident. After the initial investigation, it looks like the bus was overspeeding. The injured are getting treatment," said Rathi.

The tragic incident prompted a response from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. He instructed the district administration to ensure the injured receive appropriate medical care and wished for their speedy recovery.

In a message on X, CM Adityanath stated, "The loss of life in a road accident in Unnao district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved families. District administration officials have been instructed to reach the spot and speed up the relief work. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls and provide a speedy recovery to the injured."
